Real Time Tracking Systems

Bringing together the latest in Real Time Tracking Solutions (RTLS), Platinum Vision’s tags make tracking assets, people and vehicles so much easier. Taking high-end tracking devices as an indoor location service, RTLS is used to automatically identify, track and locate all in real time.

RTLS systems work by attaching RIFD tags to stationary objects or embedding them in wearable items worn by personnel. Each RTLS tag can be scanned and read by readers that act as fixed reference points, and provide a steady stream of data and information. By scanning and reading tags as they move past the fixed reference points provides businesses with the most up-to-date information on the location of objects or personnel.

RTLS systems use radio frequency (RF) communications as a local positioning system. To ensure that businesses gain the maximum benefits from real time location, they can control how their technology is created. Tags and fixed reference points can either be transmitters, receivers, or both, providing businesses with a range of options to allow numerous technology combinations.

RTLS technologies provide businesses with the capabilities to easily track and locate in indoor areas. It is the ideal set-up for businesses looking to keep tabs on items in confined areas through local coverage, such as in buildings or warehouses. By attaching RTLS tags to moveable assets or other items that require tracking, reference points can be established throughout the designated areas. This gives the required coverage for accurate location data.

The more RTLS reference points installed throughout the designated area, the more accurate the location information. Multiple receivers provide estimates of a tag’s location in real time, with estimations based on accuracy measurements for a given distance.

RTLS technologies can be used in:

  •  Easy location and management of assets within a facility;

  •  Creating notifications for new locations, including alerts for unauthorized movement;

  •  Combining multiple items located in one location into a single identity;

  •  Maintaining staffing levels to ensure full functionality;

  •  Safe evacuation in case of emergencies;

  •  Tracking progress of people and/or assets throughout a process.
